Introduced at the start of the millennium, the revolutionary Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116520 was launched as an upgrade for the ref. 16520. With its very own in-house self-winding calibre 4130, this updated reference replaced its predecessor, which held the Zenith El Primero calibre 4030. The year 2000 also marked a new era when Rolex decided to release their range of opulent Daytonas in gold variants with an assortment of coloured hardstone and gem-set dials. Organically unique, these vibrant dials are highly sought after by collectors as they all vary in hues, intensity, luster and pattern—meaning no watch is the same. Likewise, the intricate details executed on such delicate dials reflect the quality of craftsmanship and extreme precision required to perfect. Offered in excellent overall condition, the present Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116519 offers a vivid red grossular rubellite garnet dial paired with diamond-set indexes, accompanied by a set of beautiful ruby red crocodile straps.
