H. Moser & Cie is an independent watch brand with an ideology for preserving traditional Swiss craftsmanship. Acquired by the Meylan family in 2012, the firm has been manufacturing some of the industry’s most fascinating timepieces, having established a distinct aesthetic that quickly garnered a global following. Based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, the brand produces an estimated 1,500 timepieces per year, making them among some of the rarest timepieces available. At the beginning of 2020, H. Moser & Cie introduced the Streamliner stainless steel flyback chronograph with a new aesthetic based on early 20th-century design. The 1930s style of the Great Depression is reflected in the case with aerodynamic lines similar to locomotives of the era.
Inspired by the Streamliner’s fluid lines and distinctive flair, the present clock showcases the model’s case design and contemporary dial with an outer tachymeter scale. Other instantly recognizable brand elements include a dial center featuring a gradient blue “degradé" effect varying from its center out to its minute track.
Generously donated by H Moser & Cie, the present quartz clock is a wonderful representation of the tradition and aesthetic of the “Streamliner” collection and is in brand new, unused condition.
This clock is being sold to benefit the Horological Society of New York’s ongoing education initiatives, in support of international traveling and virtual education programs, scholarships for students of watchmaking, and awards to watchmaking schools.
